I was walking into the TA Truck Stop here in Georgia earlier, and the Trucker Chapel Chaplin (say that three times fast) was hanging out at the entrance harassing, I mean inviting, people to this evening's service.  Now, I am not really in the mood for antics tonight, so I tried my damndest to sneak by on the side while he targeted another driver.  Sadly that backfired when I brought attention to myself by knocking into a rack of free industry related magazines and I ended up being cornered by the overzealous guy.  Well, he extended his hand for a shake and without thinking (stupid involuntary reactions) I obliged.  His grip quickly loosened when I declined, citing my lack of belief in his All Mighty.  With a fake smile he said, "Well God bless you anyway." To which I replied, "Thanks, and have a scientastic day!"  I will give a cookie to anybody that can tell me where I stole that line from.  Anyway, he looked puzzled, or disheartened, I couldn't decided which it was and quickly scurried back to his converted semi-trailer church.  And that, my friends, is today's caper in my never ending battle against truck stop evangelicals.

Wow.. I never thought truck stops were so god-busy.

Venture Brothers quote ftw.

You have chapels at truck stops? That's scary.
I want bad people to look forward to and celebrate the day I die, because if they don't, I'm not living up to my potential.

And here is your cookie.  Yes, we do have "chapels".  They are almost always converted semi-trailers with a deck built on and neon cross above them, although I have seen several that were old school buses.  Most have some sort of catch phrase painted on them as well.  My favorite to date is, "Ain't God Good Ya'll?"

Haha!! O'Rly?? If being a petty, jealous, petulant, malevolent, sadistic, barbaric, spoilt, sexist, genocidal, infanticidal, homicidal lunatic is a good thing, then this is a strange world we live in...

Who could have said that? Jesus?   I'll have to use that line sometime.
Hate to tell you, but.....

You are friggin' hilarious.

I hope that you washed your hands afterward to get the church stink off.

Don't you have any capers that involve truck stop hookers and tainted meat?  :D

Well, at least the preacher backed down and didn't persist in trying to save you.  It could have been more confrontational.

From their website: "Ministering to the Truckers of the World -John 14:27"

I didn't know they had truckers in biblical times.  ;)
